In today's world, master keys or locks have become popular and required not only for personal use but for commercial applications. Our company has a range of padlocks and cylinders that can be best suited in some way. Either keyed alike (one key fits all locks), or master keyed (each lock has a single key), and a master key opens all the doors.
Grays Locksmiths have been building, designing, and maintaining master key systems for almost 30 years. Our company has supplied suites nationally for hospitals, schools, student accommodation, and government buildings.
All lock assembly work is carried out in our workshop, and records are stored securely. From one door, where two locks operate on a single key, to a multi-site complex master key system with hundreds of locks.
Another exciting feature is that keys can be cut to code, an example of this is when a worker loses an office door key, we can produce a key on the employers request and the worker can either collect, or we will post the same day. This saves having to change all the locks.
The example below explains the different levels in a huge master suite.
- Grand Master Key – This is the key used to open every lock in a suite, often over multiple sites nationally.
- Master Key – This will open, for example, every lock in one building or city.
- Sub Master Key – This gives a designated individual access to a specific section within a building, for example, a specific floor.
- Change Key or Servant Key – This key will open one lock, for example, a tenant or single office user.
Master key systems give you the flexibility of controlling who can access different buildings, departments, and rooms.
